I traveled to Botswana and Zimbabwe Feb/Mar 2017 as a part of a Cheesemans' Ecology Safaris trip. We spent time in Moremi Game Reserve, the lush Kalahari Desert, Chobe National Park, and finally Victoria Falls. This trip was as all African trips would be- amazing. As this is the rainy season (green season), we expected some good downpours and nice green scenery. What we didn't expect was massive flooding with roads and entire parks shut down. It made for an interesting adventure that involved some changing plans - the key to travel is to be willing to go with the flow! The reward was beautiful wildlife and great experiences. I was lucky to have good travel companions and a guide who found us wildlife in adverse conditions, and most importantly, never got us stuck (as we saw many others stuck in mud over the course of the trip).
